Pastor Josh Lathan

Since 2007, Josh has been dedicated to ministry, serving with a deep passion for sharing God’s Word. Growing up in a pastor’s home, he witnessed firsthand the commitment, faith, and responsibility of a Spirit-led life. This foundation shaped his calling to boldly proclaim biblical truth to a world in need. With a heart for ministry and a desire to see lives transformed, Josh remains committed to preaching, teaching, and guiding others in their faith journey.

Josh carries a deep conviction and passion for preaching the untainted Word of God. His mission is to deliver Scripture in a way that is both rightly divided and deeply applicable, engaging hearts and minds while meeting people at their point of need. With a heart for discipleship, he is dedicated to nurturing and developing believers into the followers Christ desires.

Josh is blessed with a wonderful wife, Nicolette, and together they have built a loving family with their children—Mila, Coraleigh, and Cohen.

Faith

Faith is the cornerstone of our church. It is part of every activity that we do, every meeting that we hold. We believe in our Lord, and that our actions are a reflection of his goodness.

Scripture

We look to the Lord for guidance in our lives. In Scripture, we find all that we need to guide us in the right path. Reading and understand Scripture helps us all live meaningful lives.

Youth Ministry

Youth is a unique period of life, one filled with exploration, discovery, excitement and fulfillment. The Church Youth Ministry provides a nurturing, loving environment for young people exploring the world. It is a safe place where faith guides exploration and self-discovery.

Children's Ministry

The Gospel has a message for everyone, of every age, and in every language. Exposing your child to the Lord's path when they are young gives them guidance, hope and strength that lasts a lifetime. To learn more, be in touch with one of our Pastors.

Music Ministry

Matthew Bass - Director of Music Ministry

Matthew has been the director of the music ministry at Sunset Road since 2011. He and his wife Rebecca have been married since 2004 and have three children. Matthew is a 6th grade social studies teacher at Bradley Middle School in Huntersville, and has been teaching since 2005. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family, travel, and play golf.

Using music in worship each week, we strive to glorify God by corporately singing a few praise and worship songs, and state what we believe by singing a few old hymns. We also have a choir for each age group that participates in worship. Finally, all music looks to emphasize and support the message that God has given to the pastor each week.
